Vasant Manubhai Chitara was born in 1976 in a family of traditional kalamkari painters in Ahmedabad. He learnt the craft from his father who is a State Awardee. Vasantbhai himself received the State Award in 1995 and the National Award for excellence in Kalamkari in 2001. Vasant Bhai is often spotted at a Dastkar bazaar, showcasing his work in our exhibition hall. His paintings often receive a special showcase due to the intricacies he applies in his design.
