Shiv Prasad Malviya is a Gond artist. Gond art is an artistic tradition conceived by one of the largest indigenous communities in central India – the Gonds. Born out of the age-old practice of wall painting prevalent within Gond communities, the art form is recognised for its fascinating portrayal of themes ranging from animals and nature to mythical tales and modern life. Today, the art form is practiced by Pardhan Gond artists in forms as diverse as paintings and illustrated books.
