K Siva Prasad Reddy, a master craftsman and an award-winning artist, is noted for his exquisite method of hand-painting onto fabrics. He founded a Kalakshetram for Kalamkari works, to impart the knowledge and legacy of Kalamkari art to the younger generations. His creations were showcased around the country through Hastha Kala fairs as well as artisan bazaars. Siva Prasad Reddy has received numerous awards for his contribution towards the field of traditional Indian arts and crafts: He received State Awards for his paintings 'Life of Buddha' (in 1995) and ‘Hanuman's Ramayan’ (in 2000). UNESCO-CCI awarded him the Seal of Excellence for his artwork ‘Tree of Life’ (in 2004). His name was added to the Limca Book of Records for his record breaking work which featured 1926 characters from the Mahabharata and Ramayana(in 2007). Siva Prasad Reddy was given the National award by President Pranab Mukherjee for his work 'Life of Buddha' (in 2012) and was presented with the Shilp Guru award for his artwork 'Weaver's Village’ (in 2015). He also won the Kala Ratna award from Shri Nara Chandra Babu Naidu (in 2017), and earned the YSR Lifetime Achievement award from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy (in 2021).
