Jyoti Uikey is a Gond artist from Patangarh, Madhya Pradesh. A self-taught painter, Uikey discovered her passion for the artform from watching other painters and practitioners in her community. Through her art, Uikey explores the customs, traditions, ancestral stories and folklore shared within the Gond community. Her paintings, which often depict the connection between humans, animals and nature, are noted for their vibrant palette as well as their unique incorporation of traditional Gond motifs.
