About Ajit Jha

Born in 1976, A Kumar Jha practices the Mithila style of Madhubani painting from last 20 Years, which originated in the Mithila region of Bihar. Introduced to the artform early in his life, he specializes in the use of intricate line drawings, to create vivid and striking artworks using organic paint. A Kumar Jha predominantly depicts mythological subjects in his art. He has also focused extensively on the theme of the lost heritage of Ganga. Jha was awarded a National Merit Certificate by the Government of India in 2016 and the INTACH Martand Singh Memorial Award in 2019. Worked in Craft Museum Pragati Maidan, Modern Art Galler, National Museum and Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra.
