Artist: Subrata Ghosh
Subrata Ghosh (b. 1977) is a mixed media artist whose work spans a range of media such as painting, sculpture, installation, and digital art. He creates mysterious subjects such as hybrid forms of animal and human bodies in a surreal context, which represents a decaying coexistence between man and nature. Much of his work is concerned with themes relating to environmental degradation, climate change, and human action and inaction and is also largely influenced by Ghosh’s personal experiences, emotions, philosophies, and values.
Ghosh is a graduate of the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata, with a specialisation in modelling and sculpture. He has participated in group exhibitions, including the CIMA Awards Show, 2022, and received prestigious awards such as the Prodosh Dasgupta Award (2002). He currently lives and works in New Delhi.
