Hailing from Patangarh village in Dindori, Madhya Pradesh, Kaushal Prasad Tekam is a Gond artist who began painting at a young age. Like many young artists from the village who looked up to the master artist Jangarh Singh Shyam, Prasad too worked with consistency and dedication towards the art form. He also fondly recalls attending a workshop organised by Gond painter Anand Singh Shyam, where he learnt to draw on paper and on walls. Thematically, his works largely represent nature, humans and animals which work in tandem with his signature style wherein he highlights specific sections of the work by creating textures through the use of varying inflections of black. The artist has showcased his works at the state level and nationally.
